Jaden Philogene - knee
Ipswich Town winger Jaden Philogene (22) faces an anxious wait after sustaining a knee injury during his side’s dramatic 2-2 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The forward who had only just been introduced as a substitute, was involved in a heavy 50/50 standing challenge with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández. The impact of the tackle left Philogene in visible discomfort and he had to be helped off the pitch, unable to continue.
Speaking after the game, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna provided an initial update, confirming the injury appeared to affect the inside of Philogene’s knee. “It looks like a blow, no doubt,” McKenna said. “He’s opened up the inside of his knee. It’ll be scanned. It’s usually an MCL that gets some damage in that sort of tackle.” (Source: Stuart Watson, East Anglian Daily Times)
