Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko (25) sustained a thigh injury while representing Ukraine against Belgium in the UEFA Nations League play-off on March 23, 2025. (Source: The Bobble)

The 25-year-old left-back was substituted in the 69th minute after slipping and landing awkwardly. Ukraine's head coach, Serhiy Rebrov, indicated the injury might be serious, stating, "If he didn’t continue playing, then the injury was really serious." ​(Source: Liverpool Echo)

Everton manager David Moyes is hopeful Vitalii Mykolenko will pass a late fitness test to feature in Wednesday's Merseyside derby against Liverpool.

"Vitalii's got a bit of an injury but he's back and did a bit of training yesterday so we're hopeful he's okay. We'll need to wait until tomorrow to make a call on that," (source: Yahoo Sports)
