Taiwo Awoniyi - hamstring
Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi (27) is once again sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury during the club’s recent clash with Manchester United. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo revealed after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa (5 April) that the Nigerian forward had felt discomfort in his hamstring during the United game, prompting his absence from the Villa fixture.
“Taiwo felt a hamstring during the Manchester United game,” Nuno explained in his post-match press conference. “I am sorry I did not tell you that. But we have to assess him day-by-day.” (source: Paul, Taylor, The Athletic)
The club is currently awaiting the results of a scan to determine the full extent of the hamstring issue.
