On 7 March 2025, manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that Mateta would be sidelined for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town and would remain unavailable until after the March international break. Glasner revealed that the French striker would join the squad for their warm-weather training camp in Marbella, where he would continue individual training as part of his recovery process.
