Nketiah was introduced in the 68th minute, replacing Jean-Philippe Mateta, but quickly found himself at the center of controversy. He received his first yellow card within a minute of entering the pitch, booked for an apparent dive in the Brighton penalty area. Moments later, he was shown a second yellow card for a reckless high-footed challenge on Jan Paul van Hecke, resulting in his dismissal.
Nketiah will now miss Palace’s next fixture against Manchester City on 12 April.
