The incident occurred in the seventh minute of injury time, leading to a 13-minute suspension of play. While Konak was able to walk off the pitch, Van Hecke's condition appeared more critical. He briefly sat up while being examined by the Brighton medical team but was then carefully laid back down, given oxygen, and stretchered off the field with a neck brace. He was replaced by Eiran Cashin, receiving applause from both sets of fans.
