Emiliano Martínez - suspension

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez (32) received a direct red card on 25 May 2025 during a crucial Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The incident occurred in the first half when a misjudged back pass left United striker Rasmus Højlund through on goal. Martínez charged out of his area and committed a reckless foul on Højlund, prompting referee Thomas Bramall to issue a straight red card.

As a result of the red card, Martínez is suspended for three matches. This suspension will apply to the start of the next Premier League season, should he remain in the league.
